Matt's Marathon Walk for Greenpeace

By Greenpeace Southampton

Chip in to help power Greenpeace campaigns

Southampton Greenpeace are fundraising again.  This time Matt is doing a Marathon Walk in one day to raise money for UK Greenpeace.

Greenpeace relies on individual people like you and me to fund their work. To protect their independence, they don’t take any money from governments or corporations.

At such a critical time for our planet, Greenpeace needs our support more than ever.

If you've been inspired by this event, donate today to help Greenpeace UK continue to fight the climate and nature emergencies. Together with your support, we can keep fossil fuels in the ground, our forests standing, and our oceans healthy.

Thank you!

My Updates

Jeffing

Sunday 20th Sep
Yesterday I did some Jeffing.  It's a mixture of running and walking.  I did about 30 minutes.  It's supposed to help with fitness in general and allows for some running for those that can't run far.
I wasn't able to run far but it was good to be able to do some - all helps with the preparation.
I think I'm also going to buy some beetroot juice for the walk - it has very good energy properties but that's another story...:)

Can I complete this?

Thursday 17th Sep
Today I woke up and thought, 'Can I actually do this?'
Yesterday I looked at my route on the map and it didn't look too far but who knows.
A couple of years ago I stayed with some friends in the New Forest and we did about 20miles over the course of a long day.
Helping Greenpeace has always been something close to my heart - so for the self doubt in my brain let's just say I'm going to give it my best shot....

Committed

Friday 11th Sep
Well the fundraising and blog page are created.  I can't believe I've only a month left to continue to prepare!
Following on from last years half marathon walk - this is that little bit harder.
I'm doing lots of walking and I hope that this will be enough.  Bitterne Park all the way to Eastney beach in Portsmouth.
All in good time....
