Terms & Conditions

By creating a Greenpeace Fundraising Page and running your own event, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

  1. Your Event

1.1 When you create a fundraising page and run a fundraising event, you take on full responsibility for its safe and legal execution.

1.2 You must be 18 years or older to create a fundraising page.

1.3 Your event is a third-party fundraiser, and Greenpeace’s insurance does not cover it. We accept no liability for any injuries, accidents, or financial losses that may occur. By proceeding, you accept full responsibility for your event.

  1. Fundraising

2.1 All donations must be processed through your dedicated fundraising page on this platform (hosted by Funraisin).

2.2 You agree that you are not licensed to collect cash donations on behalf of Greenpeace.

2.3 You agree not to incur any costs, claims, or liabilities on behalf of Greenpeace.

2.4 If you plan to hold a raffle, lottery, or public event, you must contact Greenpeace first and comply with all guidance, legal requirements, and insurance stipulations they provide.

  1. Your Responsibility

You are fully responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and legal compliance of your event.

3.1 Health and Safety: You should conduct a risk assessment for your event. If your event is in a public space, you must follow the venue's guidelines. For more information, visit hse.gov.uk.

3.2 Food Safety: If you are selling food or drinks, including alcohol, you must communicate any potential allergens and comply with all food safety and licensing laws. For guidance, visit food.gov.uk.

3.3 Insurance and Licenses:

  • For events in a public venue, you must get a copy of the venue's Public Liability Insurance.
  • For events at home, verify that your home insurance covers potential accidents.
  • For events on private land, check with your local authority for any necessary licenses.
  • If you are unsure whether your event is covered, please contact us.
  • Emergencies: For large gatherings, you should have a designated person who is trained in first aid to handle any emergencies.
  • Lotteries and Raffles: If you plan to run a lottery or raffle, you must ensure it is legally compliant by reviewing the Gambling Commission's guidelines at gamblingcommission.gov.uk.
  1. Privacy and Branding

4.1 Photos and Videos: Always get permission before taking and sharing photos or videos, especially of children, on social media. You must get parental consent for any images of minors.

4.2 Safeguarding: You are responsible for the well-being of all participants. You should have a designated point of contact for any safeguarding concerns, never pressure anyone to donate, and contact Greenpeace Supporter Services if a concern arises.

4.3 Data Protection: Any personal data you collect must be for a legitimate purpose, with explicit consent for communication. You must not share supporter information with Greenpeace without a clear and documented process for their consent.

4.4 Use of Greenpeace’s name: When promoting your event, you must use the phrase "in aid of Greenpeace" and only use the official logo provided in the toolkit to protect our brand. Greenpeace grants you a royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use Greenpeace’s name for the sole purpose of promoting your event, and may revoke this licence at any point.

  1. Legal

5.1 Greenpeace will process the data it receives from individuals registering for the event in accordance with the privacy notice provided.

5.2 Greenpeace reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes between you and Greenpeace will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
