31 Miles for Nature

I’m moving 31 Miles for Nature to raise £150 for Greenpeace - can you sponsor me?

Our favourite places in nature are under threat from climate change, habitat loss and pollution. We need to act now to save them. That's why I've decided to move 31 Miles for Nature this October and raise £150 for Greenpeace.

With a fifty year history of defending nature, Greenpeace's mission is to create a greener, healthier, and more peaceful planet. Any donation you make could help power their campaigns to keep our oceans healthy, our forests standing, and fossil fuels in the ground.

Greenpeace never accepts money from companies or governments, so they depend on supporters, like us, to fund all of their campaigns.

Please sponsor me today and help me reach my £150 goal. Thank you!

There's a lot happening in October so I am going to start counting miles early to make sure I get them all in!
Thank you so much to those who have had the confidence in me to already sponsor . Iam amazed to have raised over £60 for nature already. If I could bust my target of £150 by the end of October that would be AMAZING!

Thanks again everyone,  I know times are tough so don't worry if you can't sponsor this time. There are so many needy causes out there too.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Sunday 17th Aug
Forget the arguments of net zero, or 1.5 to stay alive,  or 2⁰.
Forget those who say it's too late so we shouldn't bother.
It's never too late to do something.  And every small thing you do WILL make a difference.
Whether that is sponsoring my 31 miles in 31 days,
Or only boiling the water you use when boiling the kettle, rather than a full one (and save money too).
Or using public transport more if you can (or walking/ biking).
Or changing to a green energy provider.
Or looking into government or local grants for free solar panels, insulation, electric heating,  free or subsided new double glazed windows (if yours are older than 5 years) etc.

Every small thing and every big thing we can do, or persuade our governments and international governments to do to reduce greenhouse gasses, limit climate change, biodiversity loss, glacier melt and sea level rise, will make life more liveable in the years to come, will make adaptations, mitigations and reparations more affordable.

Governments are saying now that they can't afford to make changes needed to reduce future climate change,  however, making those changes NOW is the cheapest and easiest it is ever going to be. Each day of inaction that passes .makes it more expensive,  and much more difficult to deal with.

Please, for the love of the planet, your children, nieces, nephews, grand children, fellow lifeforms on this beautiful crazy amazing planet, please do whatever is in your power to act now, give if you can, but campaign for action on climate change. Email your MP, your council, the government,  tell your neighbours. And change what you can in your own life.

This is one thing we are all in together,  and I don't think money will buy people out of it for long.

Thank you to my Sponsors
