I’m moving 31 Miles for Nature to raise £150 for Greenpeace - can you sponsor me?
A lovely start to my Greenpeace challenge yesterday. 6miles at the Yorkshire Sculpture with Barbara Hepworth’s Family of Man and Harry for company. What could be better? Fewer miles on the cards for today: it’s peeing down in Glasgow and Storm Amy is on her way!
With a fifty year history of defending nature, Greenpeace's mission is to create a greener, healthier, and more peaceful planet. Any donation you make could help power their campaigns to keep our oceans healthy, our forests standing, and fossil fuels in the ground.
Greenpeace never accepts money from companies or governments, so they depend on supporters, like us, to fund all of their campaigns.
Please sponsor me today and help me reach my £150 goal. Thank you!

Day 6
Tuesday 7th Oct Two stunning short walks in one day with a deliciously sustaining lunch at Ullapool’s Seafood Shack in between. The first - in sunshine! - to the impressive Corrieshalloch Gorge and the second - in wind and rain - to the dramatic coast around the Ruhe Lighthouse, where we hunkered down to watch gannets dance together and dive below us. Such beautiful birds … ShareDay 5
Monday 6th Oct Unbelievably glorious walk and scramble along the shore of Loch Broom, across the water from Ullapool. Plenty of weather, high mountains, water, seaweed and beach combing. Not too far, but challenging in parts and more tiring than anticipated! ShareDay 4
Sunday 5th Oct 3km -almost entirely spent in Inverness’s impressive M&S and heroically clearing fallen trees from the road to Ullapool. Storm Amy certainly made her presence felt in the northern highlands. Not counting any of it. ShareDay 3
Sunday 5th Oct Thoroughly soaked within the first 10mins … decided to keep going!! A lot to see in Glasgow - including the Necropolis. Always cheering to walk through a cemetery with Harry, especially on a gloomy day! ShareDay 2
Friday 3rd Oct Much less rain than anticipated so enjoyed a damp walk beside the Kelvin River and through the Botanic Gardens and visiting the beautiful Mackintosh House at the University: a beautiful- very modern - creative vision realised in collaboration with his wife, Margaret MacDonald. ShareDay1
Thursday 2nd Oct A wonderful start to my Greenpeace challenge yesterday. 6 miles en route to Scotland at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the company of Barbara Hepworth’s stunning Family of Nan and Harry. What could be better? Far fewer miles on the cards today: it’s lashing with rain in Glasgow and Storm Amy is on her way … Off to purchase better waterproofs! ShareThank you to my Sponsors
