31 Miles for Nature

I’m moving 31 Miles for Nature to raise £150 for Greenpeace - can you sponsor me?

Our favourite places in nature are under threat from climate change, habitat loss and pollution. We need to act now to save them. That's why I've decided to move 31 Miles for Nature this October and raise £150 for Greenpeace.

With a fifty year history of defending nature, Greenpeace's mission is to create a greener, healthier, and more peaceful planet. Any donation you make could help power their campaigns to keep our oceans healthy, our forests standing, and fossil fuels in the ground.

Greenpeace never accepts money from companies or governments, so they depend on supporters, like us, to fund all of their campaigns.

Please sponsor me today and help me reach my £150 goal. Thank you!

My Updates

Adventure at Speke Hall!

Monday 27th Oct
We had a great time exploring Speke Hall today. Duncan wore my wellies and joined in puddle jumping with his brother 💧 The Strava map is definately the best so far, just a big squiggle as we crossed paths over and over again 😂

Bird Quiz

Friday 24th Oct
Same route for the most part as yesterday, but decided to quiz eachother on the passing birds we could see! Dunc was very good at spotting Magpies, but got mixed up between the Pied tagwails and Grey Wagtails. 🐦

Bird song 🐦

Thursday 23rd Oct
We managed to get exactly 2 miles walking to nursery and school this morning. Duncan and I could hear some lovely birds this morning, so we used the Merlin App to check what they were. The Robin and Blackbird were particularly beautiful singers!

Another mile in the bag!

Wednesday 22nd Oct
Exactly 1 mile before school this morning. We were running slightly behind compared to other Wednesdays, but hope to extend our milage tomorrow!

Quick morning walk.

Wednesday 22nd Oct
Still easing ourselves back into things with a slightly extended school run next to the woods. Duncan and his brother enjoyed kicking the fallen leaves 🍂

Coughs and colds 🤧

Monday 20th Oct
We've all been feeling run down this weekend with coughs and colds, so we decided to take a break to rest.
Just a short walk of 0.64 miles to ease us back into things this morning.

Games on our walks.

Friday 17th Oct
We've been enjoying our walks to nursery so much that we've done it 3 times this week. We've played games pretending to be airplanes, fish, and in the army to liven up our steps!

Over half way!

Wednesday 15th Oct
After another 2 miles before school, we were excited to update our tracker and see that we are over half way towards our target 🙌 Duncan decided to take it into school to show his class how he was doing.

A bit slower! 😂

Tuesday 14th Oct
Extended school run this morning. Not too much difference as we had little brother in tow who was too busy checking all the Halloween decorations along the way 🧟‍♂️ Just needed to highlight how the app is telling me we were abit slower today! I wonder why?

Ease back into things!

Tuesday 14th Oct
We took a day off of Sunday, and struggled to get back into things Monday morning. So just the usual school run today!

Migration

Friday 10th Oct
We did another mile before school today and enjoyed watching all the ducks/geese flying overhead for their migration! Isn't nature so clever.

In a rush!

Wednesday 8th Oct
We knew it would be abit of a struggle to fit our walk in together today, so the normal walk to school had to suffice. It got us to 9 miles though, so we are happy to be on track! 🙌

Walk after school.

Tuesday 7th Oct
The 3 of us went for a walk to the woodland park after school. We found lots of good sticks again and enjoyed playing on the slide at the park.

Windy walk!

Sunday 5th Oct
Me, Duncan and his little brother went for a walk today and explored one of the smaller woodland areas close by. As much as we enjoyed it, might not have been one of our better idea in 40+ winds! 🙈 We didn't blow away though, and enjoyed collecting some good looking sticks.

Show & Tell

Saturday 4th Oct
Duncan is so proud of his achievements that he decided to do show & tell at school today to tell everyone what charity he was supporting. Perfect time to show off his t-shirt you all helped him earn with your donations🙌💕

1 mile before 9am!

Friday 3rd Oct
We found ourselves with some extra time before school so we took advantage of an extended school walk. We managed to get a mile in before 9am, which we were very excited about and we liked seeing people's Halloween decorations.

Extended walk to school and evening walk!

Thursday 2nd Oct
Today me and Duncan took a slightly longer walk to school and reached 0.64miles. We were determined to reach our first mile today, so went for an evening walk with his little brother too. We were very happy to go above our target! 🙌

Duncan and Mum's Welcome post!

Friday 12th Sep
Hello everyone!
Thank you for visiting mine and Duncan's fundraising page!

I wanted to let you all know that this was something Duncan was passionate to try. He really cares about our planet and keeping it healthy, and he liked the idea of doing something to keep himself healthy too whilst helping our planet!  He particularly wishes that people wouldn't litter so much.
Duncan also thought this was the perfect challenge as his favourite author/illustrator is Oliver Jeffers. So he is really excited to try and raise enough to get the T Shirt designed by him.

We plan to walk and sometimes use Duncan's scooter to reach our goal of 31 miles for October. Hopefully we'll even get more!
