31 Miles for Nature

I’m moving 31 Miles for Nature to raise £150 for Greenpeace - can you sponsor me?

Our favourite places in nature are under threat from climate change, habitat loss and pollution. We need to act now to save them. That's why I've decided to move 31 Miles for Nature this October and raise £150 for Greenpeace.

With a fifty year history of defending nature, Greenpeace's mission is to create a greener, healthier, and more peaceful planet. Any donation you make could help power their campaigns to keep our oceans healthy, our forests standing, and fossil fuels in the ground.

Greenpeace never accepts money from companies or governments, so they depend on supporters, like us, to fund all of their campaigns.

Please sponsor me today and help me reach my £150 goal. Thank you!

WE DID IT!

Saturday 18th Oct
31 miles complete! Starting out from my home in Elloughton at 6:30pm, I eventually reached the 31 mile mark in Huggate at 5:20pm. Thank you to all the people who made this possible. That’s all my amazing sponsors, and my support team (aka my extraordinary grandma.)  Thank you to my aunt, who  joined us for a stretch of the walk, and of course, thank you to Greenpeace for hosting the campaign. I enjoyed every second of it and I am very proud of how far we’ve come today. Here’s to a greener future for planet Earth!

We’ve reached our target!

Saturday 18th Oct
We just hit our fundraising target of £150! Thank you to all our sponsors 🫶
(Only 10 miles left to go!)

We’re 11 miles in and going strong!

Saturday 18th Oct
I have reached the trig point at North Newbald, that means we’re 1/3 of the way in! If you haven’t sponsored me yet, please consider doing so! 💚

Training commences!

Thursday 2nd Oct

Last Weekend, preparations began for our 31 mile challenge. We are aiming to complete our big walk in 10-12 hours which means we will need to walk no slower than 3 miles an hour. At the weekend, our trial run only covered 7.15 miles and that took is just under two hours. Our average pace was 3.8 miles per hour which means we are on track!

31 miles for nature!

Sunday 21st Sep
On the 18th of October, my mother (Frances) and I (Florence) will be attempting to walk 31 miles from our home in Yorkshire along the   Wolds Way national trail. All in one day! Our aim in undertaking the challenge is to raise £150 for the environmental charity Greenpeace, who are running the 31 miles for nature campaign this October. If you can, please sponsor us, share widely and wish us luck!
